To Market to Market

Just to make you all jealous! We live in waking distance to a market, open six days a week. The fruit and veg is amazing at the moment. All of the fruit tastes better that it looks! We are loving it!

For $1.50 Aus we can buy a huge cup full of ripe, plump and sweet raspberries. We would have a photo to show you but, were too busy eating them:) Unlike Australia the fruit here is hyper seasonal (and tasty), so we make the most of it. In the city there are apple and pear trees everywhere, Paul gets a kick out of that. It is quite a contrast to the white and grey in the middle of winter.

Kiev Land of Dreams

We have been in the Land of our dreams for one week. It felt so good, yet so surreal to arrive in Kiev. After being in transit (we need shirts that say “I survived Heathrow”) it was great to settle into our apartment.

Once we recovered from jet-lag, we really enjoyed exploring Kiev. We just catch the Metro, choose a direction and walk. We have discovered places we did not see on our last trip. We happened upon this Cathedral (yes we did walk around the front as well). It was beautiful and huge. They seem to like their Cathedral’s here!

On Sunday evening (29th July) we went out for diner and dessert with Rudy, Lara Rudresh and their two children Ester and Zeina. The Rudresh family have been so wonderful to Paul and I during our week in Thailand. Even though they were in the middle of moving house, they made time for us and helped us with organising our holiday. I was lovely to get to know this wonderful family. As Rudy was leaving for a conference on Monday, we all went out to dinner together on Sunday. It was a fun night!

On Sunday the 29th of July, after two fittings Paul and I picked up our Tailor made clothes from Veingping Collection. This tailor was recommended to us by three different people. As a government endorsed tailor it was more expensive than others, but we were looking for quality, and we found it!

I really enjoyed choosing fabrics and designs for my smart casual pants (two pair in wool cashmere) and two shirts. It was bliss!

Paul was very happy to have his Business suite (wool, cashmere pin stripe), two shirts and smart casual slacks. When he first tried on his suite, we was so pleased he strutted all around the shop!

Who needs bond ?
